Calligraphy
Dip Pens are traditional drawing and writing implements for Drawing, Calligraphy and applying Acrylic Inks and some paints. Here we offer a range of nibs and holders for both Drawing and Calligraphy as well as extensive ranges of Calligraphy pens and various accessories. All of the nibs listed -except Mapping nibs - will fit into the holders by means of a 'rose' fitting so are interchangeable. Mapping Nibs will require either a mapping nib holder or the Zig Cartoonist holder which has both a rose and mapping nib fitting.
Please note: Some nibs may require 'seasoning'. This is due to an over zealous use of coating that is used to protect brand new nibs prior to use so can occur in the occasional nib from any brand or type. To season, simply hold the nib over a candle flame for a second or two to make the nib hold onto and allow the smooth flow of ink. Repeat if necessary. We would recommend using tweezers to hold the nib to ensure hands and wooden nib holders are kept away from the naked flame.
