Williamsburg Oil Paint 37ml Tubes. Williamsburg Oil colours are incredibly pigment rich, with a dense yet buttery texture. Each colour has its own finish and feel; creating not only a palette of colour, but also texture. Originating from the Williamsburg neighbourhood of Brooklyn, Williamsburg Handmade Oil Paint produces a range of more than 170 artist quality oil colours in New Berlin, NY. Each colour is milled in small batches, with pigments ground in pure, premium, alkali-refined linseed oil, to bring out the best qualities of the pigment used.
Also included in the Williamsburg range is a selection of interference and iridescent colours. The interference colours are a special type of iridescent known for their ability to shift from one shimmering colour to another as the surface is turned toward and away from a light source. The interference colours shift from a dominant colour, as it is named on the tube, to a lighter compliment.
Colours marked 'Safflower' use safflower oil as the binder instead of linseed oil. This is to produce a less yellowing version of the selected colours, which allows them to hold onto a luminosity that would otherwise be lost.
