Winsor & Newton Cotman Rigger Series 333 Brushes. The Rigger is a long-haired brush used for fine lines. Originally used to paint the rigging on maritime paintings, the long hair absorbs any shake in the hand to allow for a steady, fine brush stroke. Cotman is a good quality, versatile range of brushes for Watercolour or Acrylic. The range uses a blend of fibres of differing thickness that mimic the important qualities sought by the watercolourist and found in natural hairs. The thicker fibres give strength and spring whilst the thinner fibres have good colour carrying capacity. The handles are specifically designed to provide balance and comfort when painting, the ferrules are made from high quality nickel-plated brass which helps to prevent corrosion, clogging of hair and enables easy cleaning. Approximate full brush length is 19cm.
